The A80 uses staggered factory wheels and is commonly fitted with 18-inch replacements. Brake package and front arch clearance matter as much as width, especially on UK and US twin-turbo cars.
Starting points for a build. Read the notes with each setup, especially if your car is lowered or has different brakes.
Staggered 18-inch street
Front
18 × 8.5 inch, ET35
Rear
18 × 9.5 inch, ET30
A specialist retailer lists 8.5J ET30–35 front and 9.5J ET30 rear as a mild A80 combination. Tyres are left unspecified because that source does not establish a matching tyre pair. Check the UK/US front caliper profile.
A MkIV Supra Owners Club member reports this on standard dampers with Tein S Tech springs and 265/35 R18 rear tyres. The front wheels sit proud, so this is an aggressive example requiring an arch-clearance assessment.
Width and offset guidance
Offset range
Check the exact setup
There is no confirmed range for this car yet. Compare a known wheel with your proposed size and measure both sides.
Common width limit
Measure before ordering
A maximum width has not been confirmed. Tyre shape, ride height and alignment all change the available space.
These figures belong to the setups described here. Combining the widest wheel with either end of the offset range does not guarantee a safe fit. For how ET moves the wheel in and out, read wheel offset explained; for how far the tyre can sit out, see flush, poke and tucked fitment.
Clearance notes
Small-brake and large-brake A80s need different barrel and spoke clearances. Do not assume every 16-inch wheel clears export Twin Turbo brakes.
The stock table is explicitly for export packages. Japanese small-brake cars have regional tyre differences that are not fully represented here.
A low-offset wheel can extend beyond the front arch even when the rear fits; do not use rear clearance to judge the front.
Original Toyota alloy wheel nuts and aftermarket taper-seat nuts are not automatically interchangeable.
Check full steering lock and suspension travel with the car loaded. Match wheel load rating, tyre load and speed ratings, fastener seats and brake clearance.

What are the stock Twin Turbo Supra wheels?+
The export 17-inch package is 17x8 ET50 front and 17x9.5 ET50 rear, with 235/45 R17 and 255/40 R17 tyres.
Will 18x9.5 wheels fit the front of a Mk4 Supra?+
They are used by owners, but offset, spoke clearance and tyre choice matter. A documented ET30 setup protrudes at the front even though its rear fit is acceptable.
What is the A80 wheel nut torque?+
Toyota specifies 103 Nm for the original wheel nut arrangement.
What size tyres does the Toyota Supra A80 / Mk4 have?+
Factory tyre (tire) sizes for the 1993–2002 Toyota Supra A80 / Mk4 are 225/50 R16, 245/50 R16, 235/45 R17 and 255/40 R17, depending on trim, with wider rears on staggered setups. Your tyre placard shows the size for your car.
What wheel size does the Toyota Supra A80 / Mk4 use?+
Factory wheels are 16 × 8 inch, 16 × 9 inch, 17 × 8 inch and 17 × 9.5 inch, depending on trim. The stock table lists the offset for each.
What is the Toyota Supra A80 / Mk4 centre bore?+
60.1 mm. Aftermarket wheels with a larger bore need hub-centric rings sized to it.
This guide is a starting point, not a fitment guarantee. Specs can differ by market, trim and previous modifications. Confirm all sizes, clearances and fastener requirements with a qualified wheel and tyre professional before buying or fitting parts.
