The 1998–2011 Ranger came on 15 or 16-inch wheels about 7 inches wide with roughly 4.5 inches of backspacing. Owners mostly fit taller all-terrain tyres, and 31x10.50 R15 or 265/75 R16 is the common step on factory wheels before a torsion-bar crank, body lift or suspension lift for 33s.

Ford Ranger 3rd gen (North America) hub and fastener specifications
The Ranger Station wheels and tyres FAQ lists 31x10.50 R15 as fitting 1998–2010 4x4s on stock suspension and 15-inch wheels, and it is the size FX4 Level II trucks left the factory on.
The same FAQ gives 265/75 R16 as the stock-suspension size for 4x4s on 16-inch wheels. Some owners also run 285/75 R16 on factory rims with slight inside rubbing.
Ranger Station owners run 33x12.50 R15 with a 3–4 inch lift, or a torsion-bar crank plus a 3-inch body lift, on 15x8 wheels with about 3.75 inches of backspacing, which is ET-19.

There is no confirmed range for this car yet. Compare a known wheel with your proposed size and measure both sides.
Common width limit
Measure before ordering
A maximum width has not been confirmed. Tyre shape, ride height and alignment all change the available space.
These figures belong to the setups described here. Combining the widest wheel with either end of the offset range does not guarantee a safe fit. For how ET moves the wheel in and out, read wheel offset explained; for how far the tyre can sit out, see flush, poke and tucked fitment.
Clearance notes
Factory wheels have about 4.5 inches of backspacing, roughly ET12 on a 7-inch wheel. Aftermarket 16-inch and larger wheels often have more positive offset and rub on the inside, so keep backspacing at 4.5 inches or less.
Wheels from 1998-on 4x4 Rangers have a smaller centre hole and will not fit over the front hubs of 1983–1997 4x4 Rangers. Published hub bore figures range from 70.3 to 70.6 mm, so we have not given one.
From 2008 Ford fitted lower torsion-bar keys and shorter rear blocks, so 2008–2011 trucks sit lower and bigger tyres rub more than on earlier trucks.
A 12.50-wide tyre on the factory 15x7 wheel rubs even with a lift. Owners move to 15x8 with about 3.75 inches of backspacing, or use spacers.
Wheel nuts are 1/2-inch 20 UNF. We have not confirmed Ford's wheel-nut torque for these years, so use the figure in the owner's guide.
Many 4x2 trucks came on 225/70 R15 tyres. Most 14-inch wheels from 2WD trucks will not fit over a 4x4 front hub.
