The AU, BA and BF Falcons share the 5x114.3 stud pattern, 70.5 mm hub and 1/2-inch UNF studs, so wheels move easily between them. XR models came on 8-inch-wide 17s, later 18s, at about ET36.5, and owners usually go to 18 or 19 inches while watching the tight gap between the front tyre and the upright.

18x8 at a near-factory offset
Front and rear
18 × 8 inch, ET35
Owners of BA and BF saloons on the Ford XR6 Turbo forum run 18x8 at ET35 to ET38, which they describe as essentially the factory size. Members warn that ET38 at 8.5 inches wide is touch and go on the front upright.
A member on the Ford XR6 Turbo forum reports 19x9.5 ET22 front with 235/35 R19 and 19x10.5 ET22 rear with 275/30 R19, with about 12 mm left to the front suspension and the guards untouched. The thread is about BF utes, and other members say 9.5-inch fronts need ET25 or lower to clear the upright and can still touch the guard, so treat this as a best case.
Width and offset guidance
Offset range
Check the exact setup
There is no confirmed range for this car yet. Compare a known wheel with your proposed size and measure both sides.
Common width limit
Measure before ordering
A maximum width has not been confirmed. Tyre shape, ride height and alignment all change the available space.
These figures belong to the setups described here. Combining the widest wheel with either end of the offset range does not guarantee a safe fit. For how ET moves the wheel in and out, read wheel offset explained; for how far the tyre can sit out, see flush, poke and tucked fitment.
Clearance notes
The tight spot is the front upright. Forum members measure about 7–9 mm between a factory 8-inch ET36.5 wheel and the upright, so a higher offset or a wider front wheel moves the rim towards it.
Members on the Ford XR6 Turbo forum say 18x8.5 ET35 fits front and rear within limits, though lowering can call for rolled front guards, and they expect 18x9.5 ET35 to rub at the front of a B-series saloon.
At the rear, owners report 18x9.5 ET35 without guard rolling, and the rear has about 30 mm to the trailing arm on the factory wheel. Utes have more room at the rear than saloons.
Studs are 1/2-inch 20 UNF, not M12. Use nuts with that thread and the seat the new wheel needs.
The hub is 70.5 mm. Many aftermarket wheels have a larger bore and need hub-centric rings.
AU XR8s moved to 17-inch wheels from April 2000 and AU XR6 VCTs from May 2001, while the base AU XR6 kept 16s to the end. We have not confirmed the widths and offsets of AU or non-XR wheels, so they are not in the table.
We have not confirmed Ford's wheel-nut torque for these models. Use the figure in the owner's handbook.
