BMW 3 Series / M3 E30 wheel fitment
The E30 left the factory on 14 and 15-inch wheels, and many owners still keep to 15s because the arches and suspension were designed around them. Ordinary E30s use a four-stud hub, while the M3 has five studs, so wheels do not swap between the two without a hub conversion.

Quick specs
BMW 3 Series / M3 E30 hub and fastener specifications
The NASA Spec E30 race class runs 205/50 R15 tyres, and 15x7 ET25 4x100 wheels are sold specifically for it. BimmerWorld describes the near-identical 15x7 ET24 as an easy fit on standard bodywork with 195 or 205 tyres.
An owner on the StanceWorks forum posts 15x8 ET15 with 195/50 R15 tyres on an E30 with standard suspension, and calls it the ideal of the setups he has run. The narrow tyre on an 8-inch rim is a deliberate choice to keep the sidewall clear of the arch.
17x8 ET25
Front and rear
17 × 8 inch, ET25
BimmerWorld lists 17x8 ET25 as its mild E30 fitment and says anything larger than the Euro 15x7 needs the right mix of offset, tyre size and camber. Check the tyre choice with the wheel seller.

Offset range
Check the exact setup
There is no confirmed range for this car yet. Compare a known wheel with your proposed size and measure both sides.
Common width limit
Measure before ordering
A maximum width has not been confirmed. Tyre shape, ride height and alignment all change the available space.
These figures belong to the setups described here. Combining the widest wheel with either end of the offset range does not guarantee a safe fit. For how ET moves the wheel in and out, read wheel offset explained; for how far the tyre can sit out, see flush, poke and tucked fitment.
Clearance notes
Ordinary E30s are 4x100 with a 57.1 mm hub. The M3 is 5x120 with a 72.6 mm hub. Both use M12x1.5 wheel bolts rather than nuts.
The 325iX four-wheel-drive models used high-offset wheels (ET41 to ET45). Their wheels sit further inboard on a rear-drive E30 and may need spacers.
BimmerWorld warns that wheels with a thin mounting pad can let stock-length bolts reach the rear parking brake. Use a 3 mm spacer or shorter bolts at the rear.
Sources disagree on the base M3 15-inch offset. Tyre databases and Spanish owner forums give ET30; some parts listings give ET24. Check the stamp on the wheel.

What is the E30 wheel bolt torque?+
100 Nm, according to the E30 Zone torque settings list.
What is the safest upgrade from the factory 14-inch wheels?+
A 15x7 at about ET24 to ET25 with a 195 or 205 tyre. It matches BMW's own optional 15-inch size, so it needs no arch work.
Will 325iX wheels fit a rear-drive E30?+
They bolt on, but their ET41 to ET45 offset sits much further in than the ET24 to ET35 rear-drive wheels, so spacers are usually needed for a normal stance.
Can I fit 17-inch wheels to an E30?+
Yes. 17x8 ET25 is a documented size, but the E30 was designed around 14 and 15-inch wheels, so tyre width and camber decide whether it rubs.
What size tyres does the BMW 3 Series / M3 E30 have?+
Factory tyre (tire) sizes for the 1982–1994 BMW 3 Series / M3 E30 are 195/65 R14, 175/70 R14, 205/55 R15 and 225/45 R16, depending on trim. Your tyre placard shows the size for your car.
What wheel size does the BMW 3 Series / M3 E30 use?+
Factory wheels are 14 × 6.5 inch, 14 × 5.5 inch, 15 × 7 inch and 16 × 7.5 inch, depending on trim. The stock table lists the offset for each.
