BMW 3 Series F30 wheel fitment

F30 owners commonly use 18-inch wheels for road and track driving or staggered 19-inch wheels for a fuller arch fit. Brake packages vary, so wheel diameter alone does not establish clearance.

Popular community setups

Starting points for a build. Read the notes with each setup, especially if your car is lowered or has different brakes.

18-inch daily square

Front and rear
18 × 8.5 inch, ET35 · 235/40 R18

Apex lists this as a direct fit. The same wheel and tyre size on both axles allows front-to-rear rotation.

18-inch wider square

Front and rear
18 × 9 inch, ET30 · 245/40 R18

Documented direct fit. Moving to 255/40 R18 tyres can require extra front camber and rear arch rolling, depending on tyre shape and ride height.

19-inch road stagger

Front
19 × 8.5 inch, ET35 · 225/40 R19
Rear
19 × 9 inch, ET30 · 255/35 R19

Uses factory tyre sizes and is listed as xDrive-compatible. The rear sits further out relative to the arch than the front.

Width and offset guidance

Offset range

Check the exact setup

There is no confirmed range for this car yet. Compare a known wheel with your proposed size and measure both sides.

Common width limit

Measure before ordering

A maximum width has not been confirmed. Tyre shape, ride height and alignment all change the available space.

These figures belong to the setups described here. Combining the widest wheel with either end of the offset range does not guarantee a safe fit. For how ET moves the wheel in and out, read wheel offset explained; for how far the tyre can sit out, see flush, poke and tucked fitment.

Clearance notes

  • Cars with 370 mm front brakes cannot use the 17-inch Apex fitments in the guide. Some 345 mm rear brake packages also have very tight barrel clearance.
  • The F30 retains 5x120 but changes to M14x1.25 bolts; E90 M12 bolts are unsuitable.
  • Some generic bolt-retailer tables quote 120 Nm for the F30. The BMW handbook specifies 140 Nm, which is used here.
  • These examples exclude the F80 M3 and the F34 Gran Turismo.
  • Check full steering lock and suspension travel with the car loaded. Match wheel load rating, tyre load and speed ratings, fastener seats and brake clearance.
