Land Rover Defender L663, non-OCTA wheel fitment

The L663 Defender is commonly fitted with all-terrain tyres on 18- or 20-inch wheels. Brake packages limit smaller-wheel choices, so a wheel approved for one engine or model year may not clear another.

Width and offset guidance

Offset range

Check the exact setup

There is no confirmed range for this car yet. Compare a known wheel with your proposed size and measure both sides.

Common width limit

Measure before ordering

A maximum width has not been confirmed. Tyre shape, ride height and alignment all change the available space.

These figures belong to the setups described here. Combining the widest wheel with either end of the offset range does not guarantee a safe fit. For how ET moves the wheel in and out, read wheel offset explained; for how far the tyre can sit out, see flush, poke and tucked fitment.

Clearance notes

  • This guide excludes OCTA, which has different chassis and tyre requirements. Trim labels describe original packages and may vary by model year and market.
  • The 22-inch row uses the ET43 marking on genuine Style 5098 wheels. Some generic databases list ET44.5; the identified factory wheel takes precedence.
  • Eighteen-inch wheels are not a universal fit. Larger brakes on some engines and model years require specifically approved wheels or an engineered conversion. Do not infer clearance from diameter alone.
  • Lower offset and spacers increase the tyre’s steering sweep. Owners have reported rubbing with larger tyres and spacers even after fitting a lift.
  • Factory wheel nuts have a specific seat arrangement. Use the wheel supplier’s approved hardware and preserve the vehicle’s axle-load capacity.
  • Check full steering lock and suspension travel with the car loaded. Match wheel load rating, tyre load and speed ratings, fastener seats and brake clearance.
