Hyundai IONIQ 5 / IONIQ 5 N NE wheel fitment

The IONIQ 5 comes on 19 or 20-inch aero wheels, and the high-performance IONIQ 5 N on 21-inch forged wheels over much larger brakes. Most owners change wheels for winter or to cut range loss, usually by fitting the factory 19-inch size to a car delivered on 20s.

Owners on the German GoingElectric forum describe running 20-inch wheels in summer and the factory 19-inch size on winter tyres, and an InsideEVs Forum thread points the owner of a 20-inch car to the 19s from the SE and SEL. The 19-inch tyre is within about 0.5% of the 20-inch tyre's diameter.

Width and offset guidance

Offset range

Check the exact setup

There is no confirmed range for this car yet. Compare a known wheel with your proposed size and measure both sides.

Common width limit

Measure before ordering

A maximum width has not been confirmed. Tyre shape, ride height and alignment all change the available space.

These figures belong to the setups described here. Combining the widest wheel with either end of the offset range does not guarantee a safe fit. For how ET moves the wheel in and out, read wheel offset explained; for how far the tyre can sit out, see flush, poke and tucked fitment.

Clearance notes

  • The hub bore is 67.1 mm. Aftermarket wheels with a larger bore need hub-centric rings.
  • The standard IONIQ 5 uses M12x1.5 wheel nuts. Sources disagree on the IONIQ 5 N, with some listing M14x1.5, so check the studs on an N before buying nuts.
  • Hyundai has used more than one offset on its 20x8.5 wheels: ET54 and ET50 versions are both listed, and a German approval document gives ET54.5. Check the stamp on your own wheel.
  • The factory 19 and 20-inch aero wheels are made as left and right pairs, so keep them on the correct side when swapping sets.
  • The IONIQ 5 N has 400 mm front discs with four-piston monobloc calipers and 360 mm rear discs. We have not confirmed that standard IONIQ 5 wheels clear them, so check before fitting smaller wheels to an N.
  • In Germany the wheels allowed are those listed in the car's CoC. GoingElectric members report 20-inch cars whose papers list only 20s, and N owners report that only 21-inch wheels are listed, so other sizes may need an individual approval.
  • The US IONIQ 5 XRT (2025 on) has its own 18-inch wheels with 235/60 R18 all-terrain tyres and a 23 mm suspension lift. We have not confirmed that wheel's width or offset.
  • We have not confirmed Hyundai's wheel-nut torque for this car. Use the figure in the owner's handbook.
  • Check full steering lock and suspension travel with the car loaded. Match wheel load rating, tyre load and speed ratings, fastener seats and brake clearance.
