The VE and VF Commodore share the same rear-drive platform and 5x120 hubs, so wheels move freely between them and between sedan, Sportwagon and ute. Most owners step up from the factory 18s to 19 or 20-inch wheels, often in the staggered HSV style with a wider rear, and the usual question is how low an offset the guards will take.
Replica HSV GTS wheels in 20x8.5 ET40 front and 20x9.5 ET45 rear are sold by Australian wheel shops as suiting VE and VF Commodores, including cars with the larger HSV brakes. The tyres shown are the 20-inch sizes listed for the Commodore in fitment databases; a 275 on the rear of a lowered car may need the guard lips rolled.

Used HSV VF GTS 25th Anniversary wheels are listed for VE and VF Holden and HSV models at 20x8.5 ET36 front and 20x9.5 ET57 rear. The high rear offset keeps the wider rear wheel inside the guard.

Offset range
Check the exact setup
There is no confirmed range for this car yet. Compare a known wheel with your proposed size and measure both sides.
Common width limit
Measure before ordering
A maximum width has not been confirmed. Tyre shape, ride height and alignment all change the available space.
These figures belong to the setups described here. Combining the widest wheel with either end of the offset range does not guarantee a safe fit. For how ET moves the wheel in and out, read wheel offset explained; for how far the tyre can sit out, see flush, poke and tucked fitment.
Clearance notes
VE and VF Commodores use 5x120 hubs with M14x1.5 studs and a 66.9 mm centre bore. Earlier Commodores use different studs and hub dimensions, so check the drilling, bore and nut size before swapping wheels between them.
The VF SS V Redline came on forged 19-inch wheels with 245/40 R19 front and 275/35 R19 rear tyres. We have not confirmed the factory offsets for these wheels, so they are not listed as a stock size here.
VF SS V models are listed on 19x8.5 wheels with 245/40 R19 tyres; the VE SS V used 19x8 ET48. We have not confirmed the VF wheel's offset.
Cars with the HSV or Redline Brembo brakes need wheels sold as clearing big brakes. A 20-inch diameter alone does not guarantee caliper clearance.
Wider rear tyres on lowered cars are the usual source of rubbing on the rear guard lips. Higher rear offsets, such as the HSV ET57 rear, avoid it.
We have not confirmed Holden's wheel-nut torque for this generation. Use the figure in the owner's manual.

What is the bolt pattern of a VE or VF Commodore?+
5x120, with a 66.9 mm centre bore and M14x1.5 wheel nuts. It is the same for sedan, Sportwagon and ute.
Do VE wheels fit a VF Commodore?+
Yes. Both use the same 5x120 hub, centre bore and stud size, and Holden used the same factory 16, 17, 18 and 19-inch sizes across both.
Will VE or VF wheels fit a VZ or older Commodore?+
Not as a simple swap. Older Commodores use different studs and hub dimensions, so check the drilling, centre bore and nuts before fitting VE or VF wheels.
What offset do HSV-style 20-inch wheels use on a Commodore?+
Replica GTS wheels are commonly 20x8.5 ET40 front and 20x9.5 ET45 rear. Genuine HSV VF GTS 25th Anniversary wheels are 20x8.5 ET36 front and 20x9.5 ET57 rear.
What size tyres does the Holden Commodore VE/VF have?+
Factory tyre (tire) sizes for the 2006–2017 Holden Commodore VE/VF are 245/45 R18, 225/60 R16, 225/55 R17 and 245/40 R19, depending on trim. Your tyre placard shows the size for your car.
What wheel size does the Holden Commodore VE/VF use?+
Factory wheels are 18 × 8 inch, 16 × 7 inch, 17 × 7 inch and 19 × 8 inch, depending on trim. The stock table lists the offset for each.
What is the Holden Commodore VE/VF centre bore?+
66.9 mm. Aftermarket wheels with a larger bore need hub-centric rings sized to it.
