BMW M4 F82 wheel fitment

The F82 M4 uses staggered wheels, with wider rear tyres common on tuned road cars. The factory carbon-ceramic brakes restrict downsizing, so an 18-inch track wheel must be matched to the brake package.

5x120 bolt pattern · 72.6 mm centre bore · Stock wheels: 18 × 9, 18 × 10, 19 × 9, 19 × 10, 20 × 9, 20 × 10 inch · Stock tyres: 255/40 R18, 275/40 R18, 255/35 R19, 275/35 R19, 265/30 R20, 285/30 R20, 265/35 R19

Rear

Documented Apex ARC-8 build. Use the V2 brake-clearing ARC-8 or another explicitly approved design with steel brakes; this is not a carbon-ceramic fitment.

Width and offset guidance

Offset range

Check the exact setup

There is no confirmed range for this car yet. Compare a known wheel with your proposed size and measure both sides.

Common width limit

Measure before ordering

A maximum width has not been confirmed. Tyre shape, ride height and alignment all change the available space.

These figures belong to the setups described here. Combining the widest wheel with either end of the offset range does not guarantee a safe fit. For how ET moves the wheel in and out, read wheel offset explained; for how far the tyre can sit out, see flush, poke and tucked fitment.

Clearance notes

  • Factory BMW wheels use conical-seat bolts. Match the seat and thread engagement to the wheel; spacers require suitably longer bolts or an appropriate stud conversion.
  • Wheel suppliers commonly specify 72.6 mm, while H&R lists 72.5 mm for its corresponding centring hardware. These are catalogue conventions for this hub family; order a part explicitly approved for the chassis.
  • The factory carbon-ceramic brake package requires suitable 19-inch or larger wheels. Do not order the listed 18-inch setup for it.
  • The F82 uses M14x1.25 bolts at 140 Nm, despite sharing its 5x120 pattern with older M3s that use M12 bolts.
  • The wheel barrel generation matters on 18-inch ARC-8 wheels; an older wheel with the same dimensions may not clear the steel brakes.
  • The stock table covers regular M4, Competition and CS packages. The limited-production GTS has a separate factory package.
  • The CS sizes follow BMW's April 2017 technical specification: 9J front and 10J rear. One regional CS brochure prints 9.5J / 10.5J, which conflicts with that specification and genuine 763M wheel dimensions.
  • Check full steering lock and suspension travel with the car loaded. Match wheel load rating, tyre load and speed ratings, fastener seats and brake clearance.
