The i4 is the electric version of the 4 Series Gran Coupe. Depending on market and trim it came on square 17 or 18-inch wheels or staggered 18 and 19-inch sets, and the M50 always runs staggered 19s. It is heavier than a petrol 4 Series, so owners changing wheels look for designs with a high enough load rating as well as the right offset, and 20-inch sets are the usual upgrade.
Apex lists this as its popular aggressive fitment for the i4, a direct bolt-on with 245/35 R20 or 255/30 R20 all round, suitable for xDrive. It warns that 3 to 5 mm front spacers may be needed with some aftermarket suspension or wide-running tyres. Three Piece's gallery also shows a 2022 i4 on Vossen HF3 wheels in 20x9 ET25.
20-inch staggered, 20x9 ET25 front and 20x10 ET38 rear
Apex's staggered option for the i4, with 245/35 R20 front and 275/30 R20 rear. A 255/30 R20 front is also listed, but Apex says that combination is for rear-wheel-drive cars only.
Width and offset guidance
Offset range
Check the exact setup
There is no confirmed range for this car yet. Compare a known wheel with your proposed size and measure both sides.
Common width limit
Measure before ordering
A maximum width has not been confirmed. Tyre shape, ride height and alignment all change the available space.
These figures belong to the setups described here. Combining the widest wheel with either end of the offset range does not guarantee a safe fit. For how ET moves the wheel in and out, read wheel offset explained; for how far the tyre can sit out, see flush, poke and tucked fitment.
Clearance notes
The i4 uses 5x112 with a 66.6 mm hub and M14x1.25 wheel bolts. Older BMWs on 5x120 wheels will not fit without adapters.
Apex recommends only its higher load-rated wheels for the i4 because of the car's weight. Check the load rating of any aftermarket wheel against the car.
Apex notes that some aftermarket suspension reduces inner clearance, so small front spacers may be needed at ET25.
Bolts must match the seat and thickness of the new wheel, and longer bolts are needed with spacers.
Published torque figures disagree: one wheel database gives 140 Nm and a US retailer gives 89 lb ft (about 121 Nm). Use the figure in BMW's handbook for your car.
Check full steering lock and suspension travel with the car loaded. Match wheel load rating, tyre load and speed ratings, fastener seats and brake clearance.

Can I fit 20-inch wheels to an i4?+

Do 4 Series wheels fit the i4?+
The bolt pattern and hub are the same, but the i4 is heavier. Check that the wheel's load rating suits the i4 before fitting it.
