BMW 5 Series F10/F11 wheel fitment

The F10 and F11 5 Series are popular for understated OEM+ builds, usually on 19-inch wheels with a slightly wider rear. M Sport cars came staggered from the factory, and xDrive cars need a tyre pairing that keeps front and rear rolling diameters matched.

Popular community setups

Starting points for a build. Read the notes with each setup, especially if your car is lowered or has different brakes.

19-inch OEM+ stagger

Front
19 × 8.5 inch, ET35 · 245/40 R19
Rear
19 × 9.5 inch, ET33 · 275/35 R19

Uses the factory 19-inch M Sport tyre sizes and is listed as xDrive compatible. A direct fit on standard or lightly lowered cars.

18-inch square daily

Front and rear
18 × 8.5 inch, ET35 · 245/45 R18

A practical OEM+ size that lets you rotate tyres front to rear. Some retailers pair it with an 18x9.5 ET35 rear and 275/40 R18 tyres for a staggered look.

19-inch aggressive stagger

Front
19 × 9 inch, ET30 · 255/40 R19
Rear
19 × 10 inch, ET40 · 285/35 R19

Sits close to the arches. Owners report possible front arch liner contact at ET30 and rear arch rubbing once lowered; rolling the arches or running a higher offset with a 3–5 mm spacer are the usual fixes.

20-inch wide stagger

Front
20 × 9 inch, ET35 · 245/35 R20
Rear
20 × 10 inch, ET38 · 275/30 R20

A documented forged-wheel road fitment. Low-profile tyres make the ride firmer, so it suits cars on standard or mildly lowered suspension.

Width and offset guidance

Offset range

ET28 to ET40

Popular aftermarket setups run ET28–40 at 8.5–10 inches wide. Factory M Sport rears use ET44 on 9-inch wheels.

Common width limit

Measure before ordering

A maximum width has not been confirmed. Tyre shape, ride height and alignment all change the available space.

These figures belong to the setups described here. Combining the widest wheel with either end of the offset range does not guarantee a safe fit. For how ET moves the wheel in and out, read wheel offset explained; for how far the tyre can sit out, see flush, poke and tucked fitment.

Clearance notes

  • Factory bolts are M14x1.25 with a conical seat, tightened to 140 Nm according to BMW's F10 service information.
  • The hub is 72.56 mm; most wheels are bored to 72.6 mm. Use hub rings with a larger bore.
  • xDrive cars need matched front and rear rolling diameters. Stick to tyre pairs documented as xDrive compatible.
  • Low-offset fronts can contact the front arch liner, and the front suspension can foul a high-offset wide front, so the usable front window is narrow.
  • These sizes exclude the F10 M5 and the F07 Gran Turismo, which have different factory fitments.
  • Check full steering lock and suspension travel with the car loaded. Match wheel load rating, tyre load and speed ratings, fastener seats and brake clearance.
