The Model X uses staggered 20 or 22-inch wheels from the factory, with a wider rear tyre on every standard package. Owners usually change wheels for a lighter forged 21 or 22-inch set at similar offsets, or add a square 19-inch set for winter tyres.
Tesla sold its 19-inch Cyclone winter package in this size on all four corners, and T Sportline sells 19x8.5 ET35 winter sets to the same pattern. Unplugged Performance says the 265/50 R19 is within a fraction of an inch of the factory 20-inch tyre's diameter.
Unplugged Performance's Model X fitment, half an inch wider than the factory Turbine at each end while keeping the factory 22-inch tyre sizes. T Sportline sells 22x9.5 and 22x10.5 wheels at ET30 for the same tyres.
Unplugged Performance shows several Model X builds in its Tesla Motors Club thread on 22x10.5 ET35 wheels all round with 285/35 R22 tyres, which lets the tyres rotate front to rear.
Width and offset guidance
Offset range
Check the exact setup
There is no confirmed range for this car yet. Compare a known wheel with your proposed size and measure both sides.
Common width limit
Measure before ordering
A maximum width has not been confirmed. Tyre shape, ride height and alignment all change the available space.
These figures belong to the setups described here. Combining the widest wheel with either end of the offset range does not guarantee a safe fit. For how ET moves the wheel in and out, read wheel offset explained; for how far the tyre can sit out, see flush, poke and tucked fitment.
Clearance notes
Tesla specifies 175 Nm (129 lb ft) for the wheel nuts, using a 21 mm socket. Owners on Tesla Motors Club note that some early owner's manuals didn't print the figure, so it was confirmed through Tesla service.
Sources disagree on the 2016–2020 20-inch Slipstream rear wheel. Teslarati and T Sportline list 20x10 ET35, later changed to 20x9.5, while TireWheelGuide lists 20x9.5 ET40 and an owner on Tesla Motors Club gives ET35 front and ET40 rear. Check the stamping on your own wheels.
Some early cars came with 255/45 R20 front tyres instead of 265/45 R20, so check the door-pillar placard before ordering tyres.
Retailers disagree on the 2021-on 22-inch Turbine front offset: T Sportline and Unplugged Performance list ET35, while Teslarati lists ET40.
One owner on Tesla Motors Club reports that 255/50 R19 winter tyres on a 19-inch wheel rubbed the ABS sensors and caused warnings. Check the wheel maker's fitment for your year before buying winter wheels.
Unplugged Performance supplies hub rings with its wheels and says the factory rotor retaining screw should be removed from each hub before fitting them.

5x120, with a 64.1 mm centre bore and M14x1.5 wheel nuts. Tesla's torque is 175 Nm (129 lb ft) with a 21 mm socket.
What size are the standard Model X wheels?+
On 2021-on Long Range and Plaid cars, the 20-inch Cyberstream is 20x9 ET40 at the front and 20x10 ET35 at the rear, with 265/45 R20 and 275/45 R20 tyres. The optional 22-inch Turbine is 22x9 and 22x10, with 265/35 R22 and 285/35 R22 tyres.
Can I run the same size tyre on all four corners of a Model X?+
Yes, with the right wheels. Tesla's own 19-inch winter package uses 19x8.5 ET35 and 265/50 R19 on all four corners, and Unplugged Performance offers square 22x10.5 ET35 sets with 285/35 R22 tyres.
Do Model Y wheels fit a Model X?+
Not directly, because the Model Y uses 5x114.3. One owner on Tesla Motors Club fitted 21-inch Model Y wheels using 1-inch 5x120-to-5x114.3 hub-centric adapters and had to shave the stud tips. Check the wheel's load rating against the X's weight first.
What size tyres does the Tesla Model X 1st gen have?+
Factory tyre (tire) sizes for the 2015–2026 Tesla Model X 1st gen are 265/45 R20, 275/45 R20, 265/35 R22 and 285/35 R22, depending on trim, with wider rears on staggered setups. Your tyre placard shows the size for your car.
What wheel size does the Tesla Model X 1st gen use?+
Factory wheels are 20 × 9 inch, 20 × 10 inch, 22 × 9 inch, 22 × 10 inch and 20 × 9.5 inch, depending on trim. The stock table lists the offset for each.
What is the Tesla Model X 1st gen centre bore?+
64.1 mm. Aftermarket wheels with a larger bore need hub-centric rings sized to it.
What is the Tesla Model X 1st gen wheel nut torque?+
175 Nm (about 129 lb-ft) for the original nuts. Confirm in your handbook, especially with aftermarket wheels or nuts.
