The W212 saloon and S212 estate came on wheels from 16 to 20 inches, with the larger sizes staggered on Sport and AMG Line cars. Owners mostly move to staggered 19s, and the E63 AMG uses its own offsets, which matters when swapping wheels between models.
An owner on the MBWorld W212 forum runs 19x8.5 ET38 front and 19x9.5 ET43 rear on an unlowered car, with 245/35 R19 and 275/30 R19 on one set and 255/35 R19 and 285/30 R19 on another. He says ET33 to ET35 also works at the front.
A 4MATIC owner on MBWorld runs 19x9 ET38 front wheels with 245/35 R19 tyres and 285/30 R19 at the rear, and reports no rubbing at the front. The two tyre sizes are within about 0.1% in diameter.
Width and offset guidance
Offset range
Check the exact setup
There is no confirmed range for this car yet. Compare a known wheel with your proposed size and measure both sides.
Common width limit
Measure before ordering
A maximum width has not been confirmed. Tyre shape, ride height and alignment all change the available space.
These figures belong to the setups described here. Combining the widest wheel with either end of the offset range does not guarantee a safe fit. For how ET moves the wheel in and out, read wheel offset explained; for how far the tyre can sit out, see flush, poke and tucked fitment.
Clearance notes
The E 63 AMG uses ET37 front and ET52 rear on its factory wheels, against ET48 on most other W212s, so check the numbers before swapping wheels between models.
On 4MATIC cars, keep front and rear tyres close in diameter. An MBWorld owner who had rubbing on 245/45 R19 tyres all round moved to 245/35 R19 front and 285/30 R19 rear, and another warns that a 285/35 R19 rear would be about 4% taller and could upset the traction control.
A lowered E 350 Sport on MBWorld runs the factory 18-inch staggered wheels on H&R springs with 12 mm front and 15 mm rear spacers. The owner reports no rubbing but says there is less than a finger's width between tyre and arch.
Owners on MBClub expect W213 E 63 20-inch wheels (9.5J ET25 front, 10J ET55 rear) to poke out at the front of a W212 E 63 and to need spacers at the rear.
Wheels are held on by M14x1.5 bolts, not nuts. Use bolts with the seat type the new wheel needs, and longer bolts with spacers.
The hub bore is 66.6 mm. Aftermarket wheels with a larger bore need hub-centric rings.
We have not confirmed Mercedes' wheel-bolt torque for the W212 from a Mercedes source. Use the figure in the owner's handbook.
