Mercedes-Benz A-Class W177 wheel fitment

The W177 A-Class ranges from 16-inch wheels on basic models to 19-inch AMG Line and A35 packages, all square front to rear. Most upgrades are 18 or 19-inch wheels at a similar width and offset to the AMG Line wheels, and A35 owners need to watch brake clearance.

Popular community setups

19-inch forged OEM+ (AMG Line)

Front and rear
19 × 8.5 inch, ET48 · 225/40 R19

BBS Japan lists 19x8.5 ET48 for the A-Class AMG Line as a tuner size. Gallery A250s on 19x8.5 OZ and HRE wheels run 225/40 R19, the factory 19-inch tyre.

18-inch lightweight daily

Front and rear
18 × 8 inch, ET45 · 225/45 R18

BBS lists several 18x8 designs between ET41 and ET52 for the AMG Line. The factory 225/45 R18 keeps the original rolling diameter.

A35 19-inch forged

Front and rear
19 × 8.5 inch, ET38 · 235/35 R19

BBS lists 19x8.5 ET38 forged designs for the A35 as tuner sizes. This keeps the factory A35 tyre size and sits slightly further out than the 8x19 ET40 original.

Width and offset guidance

Offset range

Check the exact setup

There is no confirmed range for this car yet. Compare a known wheel with your proposed size and measure both sides.

Common width limit

Measure before ordering

A maximum width has not been confirmed. Tyre shape, ride height and alignment all change the available space.

These figures belong to the setups described here. Combining the widest wheel with either end of the offset range does not guarantee a safe fit. For how ET moves the wheel in and out, read wheel offset explained; for how far the tyre can sit out, see flush, poke and tucked fitment.

Clearance notes

  • Genuine AMG Line 18-inch wheels are listed as not approved for AMG Performance models such as the A35. A35 brakes need wheels approved for that model.
  • Genuine A35 19-inch wheels (8x19 ET40) are sold as A35 fitments.
  • Fitment databases give a 66.6 mm centre bore and BBS Japan lists 66.5 mm on one OE-style wheel. Use hub rings for any aftermarket wheel with a larger bore.
  • Factory bolts are M14x1.5 with a ball (radius) seat. Tighten them to 130 Nm on dry threads, and use the bolts specified for any aftermarket wheel.
  • BBS Japan marks some sizes as tuner sizes, which may need body changes depending on tyre size, tyre brand and ride height.
  • Genuine AMG 18-inch wheels for the hatchback are also listed for the V177 saloon.
  • Check full steering lock and suspension travel with the car loaded. Match wheel load rating, tyre load and speed ratings, fastener seats and brake clearance.
