Audi RS4 Avant B9 wheel fitment

The B9 RS4 Avant sits on flared arches over the A4 body, so it takes wider wheels than an A4 or S4 without bodywork. Most owners move from the factory 9-inch rims to a square 10 or 10.5-inch set at around ET20 to ET25, usually in 20 inches, to fill those arches.

Popular community setups

Starting points for a build. Read the notes with each setup, especially if your car is lowered or has different brakes.

20-inch flush daily

Front and rear
20 × 10 inch, ET20 · 285/30 R20

RS4 owners on RS246 single out 20x10 ET20 or 20x10.5 ET25 as the sweet spot for the B9 RS arches. 285/30 R20 is the natural tyre for a 10-inch rim. Going to 295/30 R20 on a 10.5-inch rim is less straightforward: one B9 owner needed a 9 mm front spacer to clear the steering knuckle and a flat-head screw at the top of the arch to stop contact.

19-inch lighter road and track set

Front and rear
19 × 10 inch, ET20 · 275/35 R19

Apex lists 19x10 ET20 with 275/35 R19 as its main B9 RS5 fitment, sitting flush without rubbing. RS4 owners report the B9 RS4 and RS5 share wheel offsets, but check the specific design against your brake package.

Factory wheels on spacers

Front and rear
20 × 9 inch, ET26 · 275/30 R20

One RS246 owner runs 15 mm spacers on all four corners of a B9 RS4 with no rubbing, giving roughly ET11. The front sits slightly tighter than the rear. Longer ball-seat bolts are needed with spacers this thick.

Width and offset guidance

Offset range

ET20 to ET26

At 10 to 10.5-inch widths, ET20 to ET25 is the documented window for B9 RS4 and RS5. A 10.5-inch wheel at ET35 is reported to contact suspension parts.

Common width limit

10.5 inch

Square 10.5-inch wheels around ET25 with 285 or 295 tyres are run on standard B9 RS arches. Wider than this is not commonly documented without arch work.

These figures belong to the setups described here. Combining the widest wheel with either end of the offset range does not guarantee a safe fit. For how ET moves the wheel in and out, read wheel offset explained; for how far the tyre can sit out, see flush, poke and tucked fitment.

Clearance notes

  • Factory wheels use ball-seat M14x1.5 bolts. Aftermarket wheels with a conical seat need matching bolts.
  • Audi quotes a 66.5 mm hub; some UK suppliers list the wheel bore as 66.6 mm. Wheels with a larger bore need hub rings.
  • The owner's manual torque is 120 Nm. One fitment database lists 140 Nm for the B9 RS4; the manufacturer value is used here.
  • Do not copy A4 or S4 fitments onto an RS4. The RS4 has larger brakes and wider arches, so it needs its own wheel specification.
  • Audi fits 19 inches as the smallest factory wheel. Any aftermarket 19-inch wheel still needs the spoke and barrel shape checked against the six-piston front calipers, especially with ceramic brakes.
  • Running 275 tyres on a 10.5-inch rim gives a noticeable stretch; 285 or 295 suits that width better.
  • Check full steering lock and suspension travel with the car loaded. Match wheel load rating, tyre load and speed ratings, fastener seats and brake clearance.

Questions

What is the bolt pattern of the B9 Audi RS4?

5x112 with a 66.5 mm centre bore. It uses M14x1.5 ball-seat wheel bolts tightened to 120 Nm.

What size wheels does the B9 RS4 come with?

19x9 ET24 with 265/35 R19 tyres as standard, or optional 20x9 ET26 with 275/30 R20 tyres.

What offset should I use for 20x10 wheels on a B9 RS4?

Around ET20 for a 10-inch wheel or ET25 for a 10.5-inch wheel. Those fill the arches without rubbing at standard height.

Do B9 RS5 wheels fit a B9 RS4?

Generally yes. Both cars share the 5x112 hub, the same factory wheel sizes and, according to owners, the same aftermarket offsets.

Can I fit S4 wheels to an RS4 B9?

Not reliably. The RS4 brakes are larger than the S4's, so an S4 wheel may not clear the calipers. Check every design before buying.

What size tyres does the Audi RS4 Avant B9 have?

Factory tyre (tire) sizes for the 2018–2025 Audi RS4 Avant B9 are 265/35 R19, 275/30 R20 and 235/40 R19, depending on trim. Your tyre placard shows the size for your car.

What is the Audi RS4 Avant B9 centre bore?

66.5 mm. Aftermarket wheels with a larger bore need hub-centric rings sized to it.

What is the Audi RS4 Avant B9 wheel bolt torque?

120 Nm (about 89 lb-ft) for the original bolts. Confirm in your handbook, especially with aftermarket wheels or bolts.
