Clearance notes
- Factory wheels use ball-seat bolts. Match the bolt seat and length to the replacement wheel; a matching thread alone is not sufficient.
- A larger aftermarket centre bore needs correctly sized hub rings; a smaller bore will not seat on the hub.
- The R brake package needs wheel-specific spoke clearance; a wheel listed only for an ordinary Scirocco is not sufficient evidence.
- The factory ET41 packages differ from many Golf wheels despite sharing the bolt pattern.
- Both axles use the same sizes. Do not infer an approved staggered setup from the car being front-wheel drive.
- Check full steering lock and suspension travel with the car loaded. Match wheel load rating, tyre load and speed ratings, fastener seats and brake clearance.
