Porsche 911 997 wheel fitment

The 997 uses staggered wheels, with substantially different rear fitment on narrow- and wide-bodied cars. Lightweight track sets and nineteen-inch road wheels are common, but body width and brake specification must be identified first.

Carrera S 19-inch road set

Front
19 × 8.5 inch, ET50 · 235/35 R19
Rear
19 × 11 inch, ET60 · 305/30 R19

Documented HRE fitment on coilovers with 7 mm front and 15 mm rear spacers, giving effective ET43/45. Rear arch clearance must be checked.

Narrow-body wider 19-inch set

Front
19 × 9 inch, ET50 · 245/35 R19
Rear
19 × 12 inch, ET65 · 325/30 R19

Documented Apex SM-10 setup with rolled rear arches and additional rear negative camber. Not an untouched-arch recommendation.

Carrera 4S 18-inch track set

Front
18 × 9 inch, ET46 · 245/40 R18
Rear
18 × 12 inch, ET46 · 305/35 R18

Apex's photographed wide-body 4S setup. Extra front negative camber is advised. Confirm clearance if PCCB ceramic brakes are fitted.

Width and offset guidance

Offset range

Check the exact setup

There is no confirmed range for this car yet. Compare a known wheel with your proposed size and measure both sides.

Common width limit

Measure before ordering

A maximum width has not been confirmed. Tyre shape, ride height and alignment all change the available space.

These figures belong to the setups described here. Combining the widest wheel with either end of the offset range does not guarantee a safe fit. For how ET moves the wheel in and out, read wheel offset explained; for how far the tyre can sit out, see flush, poke and tucked fitment.

Clearance notes

  • The 5x130 specifications apply to five-bolt cars only. Centre-lock GT, GTS and Turbo variants require their own wheels, tools and Porsche tightening procedure.
  • A single torque is deliberately omitted. Porsche's 997 bulletin specifies 130 Nm for silver bolts through model year 2011, 160 Nm for silver bolts from model year 2012 and 160 Nm for black bolts. General fitment sites often quote only 160 Nm.
  • Stock entries are representative five-bolt packages, not every 997.2, GT or special-edition wheel. Narrow-body rear offsets must not be copied onto a wide-body car without checking.
  • Brake barrel clearance, particularly with PCCB, is wheel-specific. Wide front tyres can contact liners on steering lock.
  • Check full steering lock and suspension travel with the car loaded. Match wheel load rating, tyre load and speed ratings, fastener seats and brake clearance.

Questions

What is the Porsche 997 bolt pattern?

Five-bolt versions use 5x130 and a 71.6 mm centre bore. Centre-lock versions are a separate fitment.

Are Carrera and Carrera 4S rear wheels interchangeable?

Not as a like-for-like fit. The wider Carrera 4S body uses different rear offsets; the representative 19-inch packages here are ET67 on Carrera S and ET51 on Carrera 4S.

Is 997 wheel-bolt torque 130 or 160 Nm?

Both appear in Porsche specifications. Silver bolts through model year 2011 use 130 Nm; later silver bolts and black bolts use 160 Nm. Identify the hardware before tightening.

What size tyres does the Porsche 911 997 have?

Factory tyre (tire) sizes for the 2004–2012 Porsche 911 997 are 235/40 R18, 265/40 R18, 235/35 R19, 295/30 R19 and 305/30 R19, depending on trim, with wider rears on staggered setups. Your tyre placard shows the size for your car.

What wheel size does the Porsche 911 997 use?

Factory wheels are 18 × 8 inch, 18 × 10 inch, 19 × 8 inch and 19 × 11 inch, depending on trim. The stock table lists the offset for each.

What is the Porsche 911 997 centre bore?

71.6 mm. Aftermarket wheels with a larger bore need hub-centric rings sized to it.
