The NC is the only MX-5 on a five-stud hub, so wheels from the NA, NB and ND do not fit. Its factory wheels sit at a high ET55, and owners usually move to 17x8 at around ET45 for a wider tyre that still clears standard arches.

Mazda MX-5 Miata NC hub and fastener specifications
ThreePiece's NC fitment guide shows an NC3 on BC Racing coilovers running 17x8 ET45 Enkei RPF1s with 225/45 R17 tyres, arches not rolled and no rubbing, though it calls the fit tight.
The ThreePiece guide shows a 2009 NC2 on H&R springs, about 33 mm lower, running 16x8 ET38 Konig wheels with the factory 205/50 R16 tyre size.

Check the exact setup
There is no confirmed range for this car yet. Compare a known wheel with your proposed size and measure both sides.
Common width limit
Measure before ordering
A maximum width has not been confirmed. Tyre shape, ride height and alignment all change the available space.
These figures belong to the setups described here. Combining the widest wheel with either end of the offset range does not guarantee a safe fit. For how ET moves the wheel in and out, read wheel offset explained; for how far the tyre can sit out, see flush, poke and tucked fitment.
Clearance notes
The NC uses 5x114.3 with a 67.1 mm hub and M12x1.5 nuts. One retailer guide gives 66.1 mm; tyre databases agree on 67.1 mm, so measure before ordering hub rings.
The rear arches are the tightest point. On the MX-5 Owners Club forum, an owner running ET30 with 215 tyres had to roll the rear arches.
Wider 17x9 setups exist but need work. The ThreePiece guide's 17x9 ET49 with 245/40 R17 needed rolled and pulled arches on 949 Racing coilovers, and a 17x9 ET20 car still rubbed after rolling.
An 18x8.5 ET37 with 225/35 R18 is documented on a car with all four arches rolled.
We have not confirmed Mazda's wheel-nut torque for the NC from a factory source. Use the figure in the owner's handbook.

No. The NC is 5x114.3, while the NA, NB and ND are 4x100.
What are the NC's factory wheel sizes?+
16x6.5 ET55 with 205/50 R16, or 17x7 ET55 with 205/45 R17. Both share the same offset.
Will 17x8 wheels fit an NC without rolling the arches?+
At about ET45, yes. Owners document 215/45 and 225/45 R17 tyres on unrolled arches, though 225s are a tight fit when lowered.
Can I run 17x9 wheels on an NC?+
Yes, but the documented 17x9 cars on 245/40 R17 tyres have coilovers and rolled or pulled arches.
What is the Mazda MX-5 Miata NC bolt pattern?+
5x114.3, with a 67.1 mm centre bore and M12x1.5 wheel nuts. Check the exact model year and market in the guide.
What size tyres does the Mazda MX-5 Miata NC have?+
Factory tyre (tire) sizes for the 2005–2015 Mazda MX-5 Miata NC are 205/50 R16 and 205/45 R17, depending on trim. Your tyre placard shows the size for your car.
What is the Mazda MX-5 Miata NC centre bore?+
67.1 mm. Aftermarket wheels with a larger bore need hub-centric rings sized to it.
