Pick your tint shade on a photo of your car

Tint percentages are hard to picture. Upload one clear photo of your car, choose the mods, and BuildMyWhip renders them onto your photo in about half a minute. It's your car, in your driveway, at your angle. Preview light, medium and limo shades on the same photo and see how dark you really want to go.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Upload a photo

One clear photo of your car, ideally the whole car at a three-quarter angle in daylight.

  2. Step 2

    Pick the mods

Choose from the options, start from a preset, or describe what you want in your own words.

  3. Step 3

    Compare and decide

Slide between stock and built, try variations, and share the result with your mates or your fitter.

What you can try

Light
Around 50 to 35%, a subtle factory-plus look.
Medium
Around 20%, darker but still see-through.
Limo
Around 5%, near black from outside.
Rear only
Darker rear windows with lighter or clear fronts.
Paired with trim
Add smoked lights and black badges for a full stealth look.

Tips for a good preview

  • UK law: the windscreen must let through at least 75% of light and the front side windows at least 70%. Rear windows can be any shade. Rules differ by country and state.
  • Daylight photos show tint most realistically.

A preview shows the look, not whether parts physically fit. Check your car's wheel fitment guide and the free wheel and tyre tools before you buy.

Questions

Is the tint percentage exact?

No. It's a visual guide to how dark a shade looks, not a measured VLT. Your installer can show film samples.

Can I tint just the rear windows?

Yes. Ask for rear-only tint in the note box.

Is dark tint legal?

It depends where you live. In the UK, front side windows must let in at least 70% of light. Check your local rules before tinting.
