6x120 bolt pattern
6x120 places 6 fastener centres evenly around a 120 mm pitch circle. Use the car list below to check the hub and thread details that the bolt pattern alone cannot tell you.
The stud circle explained
6 is the number of wheel nuts or bolts. 120 is the pitch circle diameter in millimetres, equivalent to 4.724 inches.
On an even-stud pattern, the centre-to-centre distance between opposite fasteners equals the PCD.
Count and measure the actual hubs on a converted car. A nearby PCD is a different pattern. How to measure a bolt pattern shows the method, including five-stud hubs.

Centre bores and hub-centric rings
The recorded centre bore is 66.9 mm. These figures describe the cars in our guides, not every 6x120 wheel or vehicle.
If the wheel maker specifies a centring ring, its outside diameter must match the wheel bore and its inside diameter must match your hub. A larger wheel bore may accept a suitable ring; a wheel bore smaller than the hub will not be made to fit by adding one. Confirm ring shape, depth and suitability with the wheel supplier. Our guide to hub-centric rings covers when you need them.
Explained in our guides
- How to measure a wheel bolt pattern, including five studsMeasure wheel PCD correctly on four, five, six and eight stud patterns, avoid near-match mistakes, and check the other dimensions before a wheel swap.
- Hub-centric vs lug-centric wheels: choosing hub ringsLearn what hub rings do, how to specify their inner and outer diameters, and why centring, wheel seats and vibration need separate checks.
- Wheel spacers: safety checks and how to choose a sizeCalculate spacer effects on offset and track width, distinguish slip-on and bolt-on systems, and check hub engagement, fasteners and moving clearance.
Before sharing wheels between cars
Compare offset and width, the hub bore, nut or bolt seat, thread and engagement, wheel load rating, brake clearance and tyre clearance. Keep the correct fasteners and tightening specification for the actual car and wheel.
Questions
What does 6x120 mean?
It means 6 equally spaced fasteners on a circle 120 mm in diameter. PCD stands for pitch circle diameter. It measures the circle through the fastener centres, not the centre bore.
Which cars use 6x120?
Our guides include Chevrolet Colorado 2nd gen (North America). Check each guide for model-year, trim and market differences; this is not a complete list of all cars with this pattern.
Do all 6x120 wheels have the same centre bore?
The recorded centre bore is 66.9 mm. The bolt pattern does not specify the bore. Compare the exact wheel bore with your vehicle hub before ordering.
Can I swap wheels between cars with 6x120?
A matching pattern alone is not enough. Check wheel width and offset, centre bore, brake clearance, fastener thread and seat, load capacity and tyre clearance. A centring ring cannot correct a different bolt pattern or offset.
